NOTE: This resource uses American English and is not editable.

There are four different challenges included so that you can differentiate as needed:

Activity 1: The first 20 cards require students to add up various menu selections. There is a student answer sheet provided if you just want to use these 20 cards. Use the first 20 answers on the answer key.

Activity 2: The last 12 Cards (cards 21-32) feature more challenging problems. Students must split bills, compare totals, multiply totals and more.

Activity 3: Challenge Card 1 can be used with cards 1-20 and requires students to calculate the change if the total is paid with a twenty dollar bill (or in a few cases two twenties). Use the student answer sheet with 20 boxes for this activity. An answer key is provided.

Activity 4: Challenge Cards 2 and 3 allow students to select menu items themselves and calculate the totals. You could have students illustrate their choices for this open-ended activity.

Teacher Tip

Here’s what teachers are saying:

✏️ "This is perfect for my life skills classroom! It really made decimal addition and subtraction make sense for my students and they loved the menu!" -Meridith R.

✏️ "I used this with my 3rd grade son and he LOVED it! I appreciated the challenge cards at the end. Such a fun way for him to practice his skills while at home!" -Jennifer E.

✏️ "We used this for my Transition Math class as an individual activity. Students would take a card, solve on their own, and continue working through until they had them all. We were able to then solve some of them together as a group! I love that it can be an individual or group activity." -Amy N.
