Your students will love having their own personal writing space. Mine often used it as a privacy folder, but one that gave them the tricks and tools to enhance their writing. They'll be asking for their writing office before you know it, and their writing will most definitely show that they are using it too!

Helpful Tips:

  • Watch this YouTube video on how to assemble this writing office.
  • Precut charts for students ahead of time (TIME SAVER!)
  • Model whole group to show where and how to glue the charts. We always did it as a class together.
  • Build “along the way” as skills are being taught. This saves time on assembly AND questions about things they have not been taught.
  • Preassemble for students so they are ready for use.

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four the Love of Teaching says, "My students have really enjoyed utilizing this resource and I have seen improvement in their writing since implementing it. Students are able to have quick access to many different parts of the writing process (eg. powerful conclusions, etc.) and can track their work using the writing stages tracker at the top."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kayla B. says, "This resource is absolutely perfect for my fourth graders! I love the layout of the pages and my students were easily able to follow my lead when putting it all together. It offers great examples and I love that students can easily keep track of which stage of the writing process they are on with this."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Carolyn T. says, "This resource is so helpful to build independence during writer’s workshop. Students can stay more engaged in that they have all the tools in front of them to use instead of leaving their writing spot to ask for help multiple times. Keeps their writing stamina up which is great!!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Elizabeth B. says, "AMAZING resource! I had students assemble the folders over the span of several weeks, gluing just 1 or 2 parts each day as a mini-lesson. Then students practiced using the skill/topic in writing workshop. Once the folders were complete, I laminated them to last the whole year. Even with frequent use, some students’ folders still looked great at the end of the year and can be used as a resource next year, too. "
