What educators are saying
Description
Do you need rigorous writing assessment tasks and extended response writing prompts for your 4th and 5th graders? Are your students expected to read a story and then write a new story incorporating details from the original story in their response? If you answered yes, this narrative writing assessment test prep resource is just what you need!
Our students are no longer asked to simply write narratives on state assessments. Now, they are required to write narratives in response to a stimulus or text. They must show their understanding of the given text and use that understanding in their new stories. Note: This may vary depending on your state. Please read the description fully and check out the preview to make sure this meets the needs of your particular state writing assessment.
Included in this Writing Assessment Test Prep Resource:
This resource provides several practice writing assessment/writing test prep prompts to help expose your students to the type of writing tasks described above and give them plenty of guided or independent practice.
***Sample stories and responses are also included if you wish to use these to model the tasks for your students. This modeling is powerful for students to understand expectations and see examples.
