In this Year 5 unit, students learn about colonial life in Australia, including significant people. Groups, developments and events that shaped colonies, addressing aspects of the HASS Australian Curriculum.

✩ It is a 9 lesson unit (designed to be taught over a term) that contains all lesson resources including worksheets and posters*.

✩ This HASS unit also contains an editable PowerPoint presentation that can be displayed during each lesson. It includes the learning intentions/success criteria, key discussion points, worksheets and display resources. This makes teaching every lesson even easier if your classroom has a T.V or Smartboard.

The reasons people migrated to Australia from Europe and Asia, and the experiences and contributions of a particular migrant group within a colony (ACHASSK109)
