Are you going on a zoo field trip with your primary students? This resource will help you do all the planning for the trip. Student activities included in this packet:

Before the Trip:

  • Draw 6 animals you think you will see at the zoo- perfect morning work for the day of your field trip.
  • Writing- I hope to see...
  • Bracelets for students to color and wear home to remind about the trip.

During the Trip:

  • Can you find a... zoo scavenger hunt worksheet.
  • Worksheet- Find animals that are sleeping, playing, eating, etc.
  • Draw and write about an animal you observed.

After the Trip:

  • Two writing pages for after the field trip (2 types of writing lines)
  • Flipbook project for after the field trip with 9 topper options

Teacher resources included in this packet:

  • Detailed planning checklist helping you think through your trip from scheduling to the day of the trip! I have done the heavy thinking for you!
  • Editable checklist form to keep track of items like permission slips and admission fees. Need different items to track? You can change the categories.
  • Volunteer sheet to assign groups and place the daily schedule. There are 3 versions of this form (for 4, 6, or 8 parent volunteers) and all text on the forms is editable. Give this form to your volunteers the day of the trip!
  • Email swipe files- I have written all of your parent communication emails! You simply open the Word document, then copy and paste the emails you want to send. The text in red is the text you need to edit to your specific trip. Swipe files for 6 emails are included. The emails include informational emails, email to volunteers, reminders, and a thank you email.
