TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 20 years experience in grades pre-K through 3rd grade. My passion is teaching literacy as I have continued to shape and refine my craft in the areas of reading, writing and grammar. I aim to get each and every student to reach deep within themselves to find their inner reader and writer. I set high expectations and find that my students rise to the challenge given opportunities that provide rigor and differentiation to meet various needs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

One of my favorite quotes is "Teachers who love teaching create students who love learning." I find that my students succeed most when I am passionate about what I teach. If we do not model passion and enthusiasm with regard to learning, how can we expect our students to embrace learning as engaged and enthusiastic lifelong learners? I try to create an atmosphere guided by structure, energy, and a love for learning, as I learn alongside each and every student.
