TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent 7 years in the classroom. I've taught general and special education, language arts, and math ranging from grades 6-12. I was a member of Teach For America, Atlanta corps 2012, in which I taught high school ELA and special education. I have a Masters degree in Reading and a Bachelor's degree in 7-12 Secondary English Language Arts Education. One of my favorite educational experiences was completing my student teaching in South Africa in 2012.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in providing choice and scaffolded support to teach reading and writing. I think novels are the best and most engaging way to teach reading and promote a lifelong love of learning.
