In my classroom, we use R.A.C.E. to answer questions - R = Restate the question, A = Answer the question, C = Cite the evidence from the text, E = Explain or Elaborate. (G can be substituted for C to spell RAGE, where G = Give an example from the text. Maybe more appropriate for younger grades.) This worksheet will help students practice the first two letters or RACE - Restating and Answering. For some this is an easy, quick review. For others who are struggling to understand what RACE means,

This is a simple, two-page multiple choice assessment for point of view. This assessment contains short passages and multiple choice questions. It tests students' knowledge of 1st person, 2nd person, and 3rd person point of view but does not distinguish between the three different types of 3rd person point of view. My intention was to approach the concept of point of view (literary perspective) from more than one angle and I based some questions on what I have seen of the North Carolina end-of

To help teach this concept better, I started looking around for graphic organizers and found out that they are really hard to find. So, I created my own. The first copy is what I used in class this week, but if I could have gone back and tweaked it for my kids I would have made the text boxes larger so that they could use sticky notes. I made that for you. What
