Practicing Restating the Question in Answers
In my classroom, we use R.A.C.E. to answer questions - R = Restate the question, A = Answer the question, C = Cite the evidence from the text, E = Explain or Elaborate. (G can be substituted for C to spell RAGE, where G = Give an example from the text. Maybe more appropriate for younger grades.)

This is an English Language/Grammar Test which tests the pupils knowledge of Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives. It can be used for Grade/Year 2-4 depending on the standard of your class. You would need to teach the concepts of Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives first and then print out the test for your class to do. The test should take on average 30 minutes to complete. To help teach this concept better, I started looking around for graphic organizers and found out that they are really hard to find. So, I created my own.
The first copy is what I used in class this week, but if I could have gone back and tweaked it for my kids I would have made the text boxes larger so that they could use sticky notes. I made that for you.

Reading Comprehension Test Van Gogh
This is a 32 question multiple choice reading comprehension test designed to get my 6th grade English students reading carefully and inferring. For this test I used text excerpts from the CCLS appendix B middle school exemplars and an excerpt from a website advertising a summer camp program.
