Fact Family - Educational Parody for teaching Addition/Subtraction Fact Families
This song was written to reinforce fact families. I refer to the addition problems as the brother and sister, and the subtraction problems as the mother and father.
"Everybody say hi to the brother,
Two numbers to add,

Musical Math Subtraction Game
This is similar to musical chairs or an around the room activity. I printed the large math problems onto colored paper. With the papers in a circle the boys and girls danced around until the music stopped. They landed on a subtraction fact and wrote the answer on their answer sheet. They had a great time! I used songs like "Can't Stop the Feeling" by Justin Timberlake or "Happy" by Pharrell because the students knew them from movies.
