God Bless America in Signs

American Sign Language (ASL) is a language all its own. It is conceptual and has its own syntax. However, when the interpreter signs a song as others sing, this syntax is often mixed with English syntax so that the order of words matches more closely with the words being sung audibly. This product presents the song in sign illustrations as it would be signed while someone sang aloud. This is followed by a chart with explanations for the signs used to represent each word concept.

Amazing Grace has been the part of many church services and ceremonies. Played on bagpipes, the flute, or piano, or sung by a soloist or a choir, it is unique in its own right. But signed in ASL is the most beautiful presentation of all. This product presents all four verses of Amazing Grace. Word concepts are placed under each sign illustration and then are explained individually in a chart that lists and described each word.

The next section is set up to mirror a cloze procedure. Students choose the correct vocabulary word to place in the blank. Students use context clues and vocabulary knowledge to help them make the right choice. This test is made up of 18 questions.
