Writer's Workshop teaching 'How To' Stories using Transition Words & Technology
Students will list transition words and using this knowledge/understanding, students will write their own 'How To' stories, taking them through the writing process. Their published work is displayed through a powerpoint presentation. Mentor texts are included to help support the students through this process. In addition, there is a rubric for grading and a sample powerpoint so students are able to see what is expected in the final project.

After teaching students different ways to alter test in Microsoft Word, this handout is used for assessment for students to show what they know about altering text. It is a word document so you can edit it to your liking. I have used it in grades K-8. It has a but in rubric.
