I created pages that include larger illustration areas, word banks for students to use key vocabulary, and numerous opportunities to compare different types of organisms. Plant Unit & Review Activities
This Smartboard file has everything you need to make your unit on plants interesting.
The first half is a great introduction to your uni, complete with pictures and activities.
The second half is meant to be used as a review. I use this to help my students prepare for the SOLs. It is also a fun way to wrap up your unit.

Introductory to Plants
The is a SMART board presentation I made to introduce plants to my first graders. It covers parts of the plant, needs of the plant, 2 poems about seeds, a video about seeds that is about 2 minutes long, a link to a youtube video where they can see seeds grow in fast forward to see the roots and such. It also covers the sequence that a seed grows into a plant. It is almost completely interactive.

This science lesson on the three states of matter went with either an AIMS of GEMS science kit. It steps you through the lessons day by day. It also has a lot of neat websites and other neat things I discovered while teaching the kit.
