What educators are saying

My students really like this format for our guided notes and research. I gave them three options and this is the one they unanimously picked. Even though I go in a different order, I can easily print off what I need easily.

Description

You’re here because you have been given a daunting task, which is to teach the relatively new AP Art History curriculum at your school. The over arching curriculum of this course asks you to understand and teach your students about 250 College Board selected works of art. Sounds easy enough right?... That is until you start diving into things.

I have designed the following materials to help you with this task. There are no lessons included into these files, but what is contained is a system to help you organize how you approach the content of this course giving you and your students a way to start developing a common learning system. If you will put in the effort to learn the content of each artwork, these tools will help you deliver it in an organized and systematic approach ensuring your students are ready for the end of year AP exam.

WHATS INCLUDED

1. Introduction to my AP Art History Content

2. AP 250 Image List: This is a organized list with identifications for all 250 pieces required to be covered for this course

3. AP Art History Unit Listings: This list breaks down the required pieces into 13 units and lists all pieces covered in these units.

4. AP Art History Pacing Guide: This is a pacing guide broken down by day with suggested topics and artworks that can be taught on these days. As always flexibility is required because many things change through out the school year

5. Template of My AP Art History Calendar: This is an editable file which can be used to create a calendar for students or parents to know what will be covered during class

6. **THE AP ART HISTORY NOTE TAKING PACKET**: This is the note taking system I have used the last 5 years with my students. It contains 250 organized note-taking sheets, one for each artwork, organized into 12 units. Each sheet is broken down into 9 boxes. Each box has a broad general topic such as, Materials, Context, Innovation, Etc. As students get comfortable with this system they quickly get into a habit of recording the most important information during discussions, and know how to find information about each piece when they are studying on their own.

The folder also includes a second folder with each unit as their own individual file, an additional folder with all 250 note-taking pages as individual files to give you maximum flexibility. This purchase is just DIGITAL FILES; you will have to decide how to approach getting the note-taking packet to your students. This packet was an enormous labor of love. Each file was individually made. I hope it makes your life easier and a bit more organized!

7. BONUS MATERIAL!! FLASH CARD TEMPLATE: I’ve also included a file for printing flashcards for students. There is an image that can be cut out and glued to a 3x5 note card for all 250 pieces. This is a fantastic study tool to help students!
