Description
This is a language development activity that lets students (even non-verbal) practice answering yes and no questions. It can be completed fully online through the BOOM Learning website or app (or with other platforms like SeeSaw, Canvas, Schoolology, Class Dojo, and more - see link below).
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
- It means that the activities are self-checking!
- It means no printing, cutting, or laminating!
- It means your students can work on this activity independently using any internet-enabled device (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone)!
- It means you can use it with your interactive whiteboard!
- Best of all, it means that you can track your students' progress!
Each screen presents students with a photo of a real object and asks, "Is this a....?" Embedded text-to-speech audio reads each question aloud. Students respond by tapping yes or no. There are 20 different objects (10 yes answer, 10 no answers) randomly presented. This set of questions contains nature-themed objects.
This activity is particularly helpful for students with echolalia who repeat the question rather than answering it. It is also great for language development in non-English speakers.
