- Publisher files
Description
Aligned to NGSSS SC.6.E.7.9.
Uses:
I used this as an activity for students to work on quietly after a test.
Could also be used for a front-loading activity or a homework assignment.
Front: Students identify each layer of the atmosphere, color.
Key:
Earth --> Troposphere --> Stratosphere --> Mesosphere --> Thermosphere --> Exosphere
Inside: Students complete the "Hot" or "Not" page by identifying the hottest layer of the atmosphere and the coldest layer of the atmosphere. Students will draw and color pictures.
Key:
Hottest layer: Thermosphere. Drawing includes ionosphere - positive and negative charges.
Coldest layer: Mesosphere. Drawing includes "shooting stars" (meteors burning up).
Back: Students identify the troposphere as the "weather layer".
Key:
Students will draw weather images. Answers vary.
