What educators are saying
Description
In this Aztec inventions and culture lesson, students learn about four major inventions by the Aztec Empire. Students learn about the precursor to soccer (ollama or tlachtli) , floating gardens (chinampas), the origin of the red dye (cochineal beetle), and their system of universal education!
This resource is included in my Mesoamerica Unit Bundle to teach the Inca, Maya, and Aztec.
Students navigate through four inventions, using their investigative worksheet to guide their way. After reading their stations article, they have to figure out which box corresponds with the correct invention. Then, students complete the short assignment! Once finished, students choose their favorite to be the focus of a journal entry!
Two versions of the student assignment are included, one which gives students the added challenge of sketching out the invention!
A key is included!
This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom. This will allow students to type directly into the document!
