Description

Are your students learning about bartering? This game will have students practice their bartering skills!

The object of the game is to get a home, clothing, and food (meat/fish/eggs, bread, AND vegetables). You may barter goods or combine cards to make what you need.

A video is now included with instructions for both basic and advanced game play. It is always a bit challenging to learn how to play a new game by reading instructions, so I have created a video overview so that you can familiarize yourself with the game first. If students have played games that require them to use resources to survive (such as Minecraft) they will catch on to this game very quickly!

Example combinations:

wheat + fire = bread

sheep + shears = clothing

sheep + fire = meat (food)

bricks/sticks + tools = house

seeds + water = vegetables (food)

cow/pig/chicken + fire = meat (food)

If you have chickens, you can use them as laying hens, and use the eggs instead of meat. If you have a cow, you can use them to get milk (for advanced game below). You may work in teams (recommended for large groups) or individually (for up to 6 players, or you will need to print out more than one set of the cards).

Several variations of play are included. Also included are specific task cards to make the game even more challenging. Printable money ($20 and $100 bills) are included if you would like to add monetary negotiations.
