  • 2 reference pages of "Build your Knowledge" of bird beaks - to help you, as the teacher, know what to teach and prepare you for questions from your students (but no promises that they still might ask a question that you can't answer - you know kids!)
  • 2 pages of "Teacher Tips" providing info about the sequence of the lessons, what to focus on, etc.
  • 9 animal cards- 1 for each bird with its name and photo. (full page and half page sizes are provided to use for whole group, small group, a center or even a bulletin board display)
  • Vocabulary charts:
  1. birds: woodpecker, pheasant, toucan, puffin, scarlet ibis, hummingbird, eagle, parrot, spoonbill
  2. types of beaks (traits)
  3. definition of each beak type that also shows animals that possess them
  • 2 writing pages (with handwriting lines and plain lines)
  • a Venn diagram page to compare/contrast two birds
  • "Beak Sort" title and bird photos to use as a small group sorting activity
  • labels to slide into the clear pockets of a large die to use to fill in chart
