⭐️ Here's what you'll get (Click the Preview link above for a closer look!)
- 80 activity cards with a wide variety of types of tasks
- Index of activities with short description and any additional notes
- 19 optional handouts to be used with certain activities
⭐️ You'll love these no-prep and low-prep creative activities. The tasks have been randomized so you can work your way through the deck and have a good mix of types of tasks. Except for a few activities, no materials other than pencil and paper are needed. Some have optional handouts that you can use with the students, but in most cases, they are not required to complete the activity.
⭐️ Why use brain breaks in your classroom? Research has shown that our brains are wired for novelty, so it is important to switch up our activities to refresh our brains and to think of things in a different way. They are also a useful tool for students to use to help activate, energize and stimulate their brains. Research shows that incorporating brain breaks also improves student concentration and relieves stress. When students are working on a difficult task, and they are feeling stuck or frustrated, taking a brain break can help stimulate creativity and get ideas flowing.
⭐️ These brain breaks are also great for:
- ice breakers
- bell ringers
- fillers
- early finishers
- a fun break after testing
- any time you need to shake things up in your class
These are also great for English learners because for many of the tasks, they will have an opportunity to discuss and work together with classmates. There are also many activities that use listening and/or describing skills, which will challenge them to think and communicate in English in new ways. The tasks would even work well for adult ESL students.
