COUNTING MONSTER EYES CRAFT
A craft to reinforce counting and one-to-one correspondence.
Integrate first grade math and art to reinforce concepts in a fun and engaging way! Practice and solidify core math concepts with this adorable math counting craft! My students LOVE learning math through art activities, and my classroom is always bright and colorful as we display our projects.
- This simple project integrates math and art together to create a collection of six different monsters - each with a different number of eyes! Students color and cut out their monster and glue on the number of eyes they want. Or, copy the monsters onto colored paper and use plastic googly eyes! Either way, students count the eyes and record the number on the sentence at the bottom. Alternately, you can write the number for students to count out and glue onto their monster as a way to differentiate.
- All the templates are included so all you have to do is print them out for each student.
- The coloring, cutting, gluing and problem solving makes it a perfect hands-on activity.
- This craft is simple enough to be used in an independent math center. Just print the example from the cover and let students create!
- These cute monsters make an awesome classroom or hallway display or classroom number line.
