Description

NEW! This editable review game template, Risk It, is a fresh, fun, and competitive game that can be used for distance learning such as remote or hybrid, and even in-person! Skip Jeopardy and other boring review games because your students will be begging to play to risk tokens (virtual/paper/metal/etc.) while having fun reviewing key concepts in this retro-themed game! 15 easy-to-edit question templates are provided to tailor the review game to any subject or grade! Bring back the joy of learning and reviewing content before a unit test, quiz, state assessments, or just for fun! (This game can be downloaded as a PowerPoint through your Google Drive but the sounds will not transfer.) Get the Game Bundle for cheap!

The object of the Game: Be the team with the most “tokens” at the end of the game!

How to play

  1. Add questions and answers of varying complexities into the slide templates. This will be important for how many tokens each group risks, It will keep them guessing!
  2. Put students into one of several groups, around 6 groups is manageable (*See Remote/Hybrid Modifications page and slide if using for distance learning). Assign each person a team role.
  3. Each team is given 5 “tokens” to start. (You can order them cheap from Amazon, find them at the dollar store, or even cut them out of paper!) As a team, each group must decide how many tokens they want to risk before each question is read aloud each time (0, 1, or 2 only).
  4. In numerical order, read aloud a question and allow students time to quietly discuss and record their final answer.
  5. Reveal the correct answer and check each group’s response. If the group answered the question correctly, they win the tokens risked and if answered incorrectly, they lose the tokens.

The winning team has the most tokens at the end of the game. This is a competitive game so keeping them on their toes about the questions is key. Making “Wild Card” questions to throw them off and making the final question a “risk it all” type of question adds to the suspense! See the Teacher’s page for more tips and tricks! Create multiple versions of the game using different questions and answers each time. They will be begging to play it
