What educators are saying
I used for my Brownie troop to earn the Cybersecurity Badge 3 and the girls LOVED this! We broke into small groups where all team members had the chance to solve different puzzles and work together to solve the overall mystery. Very well done!
This is such a great resource. I highly recommend it! The students loved using it, saving me a lot of time. Thank you for creating such a thoughtful and well-planned resource.
Description
OUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN HACKED! It's up to the young CSI investigators to figure out who did it. This lesson is a Breakout Box meets the game of Clue that integrates oral language, reading, math, and technology . Students work in teams to measure "digital footprints", study fingerprint scans, identify "spyware traces" left on the computer and look at Nmap evidence. It integrates reading, writing and math with 21st Century skills of collaboration, communication, citizenship and critical thinking. I use this lesson as culminating activity with my second graders after a study of Cyber Security, (Reconnaissance, Cryptography, Digital Ethics and Forensics- Those lessons coming soon)
