Encanto Educational Resource- SEL, Social Studies and Music!
What educators are saying
Description
Encanto is such an amazing film with so many underlying themes that can be tied to so many curriculum links!
From family roles, responsibilities and expectations, to Social Emotional Learning and of course, the beautiful music found in this film makes it perfect for an in-depth and educational exploration!
This is a fun and engaging work packet that ties to multiple curriculum links in the Ontario Curriculum. You can choose to either watch the movie in its entirety with your class or you can choose to watch the film in small chunks or clips. I have included a guide with which worksheet to use that corresponds to a time stamp in the film.
I personally recommend watching the movie in its entirety to allow students to really absorb the emotions, familial and cultural ties that this movie has and then going through individual scenes as you complete this work packet, to refresh their memory and dive deep into discussion. It is great to go through this film and activity packet in the course of a few weeks. If you cannot spend an entire afternoon on the film, cut it up into 20 or 30 minute chunks and then revisit scenes as needed!
