What educators are saying
Description
Ethical and moral dilemmas are excellent ways to develop student empathy, social awareness and critical thinking skills. Students are able to consider their responses to each scenario and reflect upon the personal values that contribute to their stance.
This packet includes 40 stand-alone situations which need personal ethical and moral judgements. Having used these cards in my own classrooms, they generate significant discussion and allow students to make connections they had previously not considered. By the nature of moral and ethical dilemmas in general, I have only used these cards and dilemmas in high school. However, these do generate fantastic discussion and debates, so you might find that they are suitable for more ‘mature and aware‘ younger students.
Teaching using ethical dilemmas has many benefits, including ensuring students learn “how to navigate their own moral decision-making”"
