Such a cute way to start the school year. I've laminated the cards to use for multiple years and hand them around the classroom. It's an easy way to get students up and moving on the first day of school while also being a quiet, independent activity to work on.

Need a fun activity for the first day of school?! Use these FIRST DAY task cards to get to know your students better and to get them familiar with their new classroom! (I personally use them first thing in the morning, but you can use them whenever!)
The cards are placed around the room (or all in one area if you prefer it that way) and the students will record their answers on their recording sheet. For example, when they get to the R card, they will write that response in the R box. *I have also included a digital version you can use if you'd like. This version allows you to make changes if needed (or keep as is).
