In this interactive Google Slides lesson, students learn about types of fossils and how they form. After clicking through ten slides with information about:
- how fossils form
- types of fossils - mold, cast, trace, and true form
- paleontology
- the law of superposition
Next students demonstrate their comprehension with several interactive activities:
- students "dig" for fossils by uncovering fossils hidden in the rock layers
- categorize and sort fossils
- answer multiple choice questions using the fossil record and the law of superposition to draw conclusions
