This intro to quadratics lesson introduces important terminology and basic information to understand quadratic functions. Lesson is led through a powerpoint presentation including a full class discovery activity, video link to show real world parabolas, and student notes to introduce the concept of a quadratic function. Student worksheets are included to use alongside the powerpoint presentation to keep students engaged while learning this difficult new content.

- basic quadratic terminology

- basic quadratic curve (y = x2 )

- domain and range of functions

- properties of quadratic functions written in standard form (direction of parabola and y-intercept)
