The tasks progress in difficulty, which makes differentiation easy in your groups. As a speech therapist, I use this binder for grades K-5. Regular education teachers can use this binder in grades K-3 and with struggling groups in 4th and 5th grade. The numbers in the top right hand corner indicate the complexity of the task. Level 1 are beginning skills, Level 2 are intermediate skills, and level 3 are the most complex skills
TEACHING, not Data Collection. This binder is completely intervention-based. This means it does not contain any data-collection. Instead, it contains direct teaching and interactive practice for students to master each one of the skills. If you are interested in data collection, please check out my Ultimate Data Collection Binder.
Visual cards for all of the TEACH pages included. These are perfect to have next to the student to serve as reminders and visuals as they are working through the tasks.
Scaffolding made easy. Tasks such as finding the main idea and retelling text can be very difficult for our students. This binder breaks down each task and builds on the previous, allowing for scaffolding and increasing independence.
As a self-contractor, I try to be cognizant of ink. Most of the binder can be printed in black and white. However, the color used in this binder has a specific purpose to serve as a visual for our students.
Speaking of printing, I printed most pages double-sided and inserted them into page protectors creating a one-time binder for my students to use with dry-erase markers.
Promotes independent work. Once the student completes a task, he/she colors in a circle. This allows the student to assess their own skills and work independently while you work with other students.
To create a no-print binder, save to a Drive such as “One Drive” or “Google Drive” and open up in a PDF editor such as the Notability App (not included).
