What educators are saying

This was a great resource. I loved that it challenged the kids and provided a hands on activity to learn about main idea and supporting details.

Description

Students often get confused when analyzing a text for the main idea and correct supporting details. This activity has them identify the main idea and supporting details in 6 sections of a nonfictional article. Then the students are required to analyze each section to sort statement strips into the correct space on a sorting chart.

Link to article, sorting chart, 6 pages of statements (page for each section), and answer key are included.
