By having a consistent format for bell work (and not a visual Frankenstein), your middle school students will know exactly what to expect at the beginning of their chorus/band/orchestra class. You can train them with the same consistent format every single day (and this bundle covers more days than the school year, so you have some wiggle room in choices). They LEARN to expect bell work every single day - it becomes weird when there is not anything on the board. And trust me, your middle school students WILL ask even if they complain all the other days. ;)
The answer sheet is a half sheet, easy to copy and easy for students to use. The key to success is CONSISTENCY. Have your bell ringer ready every single day, right as they walk through your door, and they will learn to have their answer sheet ready every single day.
Grading bonus - have one weekly grade requirement SET. Weekly bell ringers, done. And then assess your students on one skill that week, BOOM. Second grade of the week - typical requirement DESTROYED. (Or maybe it was just my schools have required two grades a week and you're much luckier than me.)
Okay, I realize my description is more like a teacher hack preaching the good word of bell work in middle school music classes. I should focus on the sales-y part too and make sure you understand a few more nuts and bolts... (But I beg you, THIS IS THE WAY - BELL WORK. I'm a nerd who likes making curriculum stuff on the side hence sprucing up my Daily Downbeats to save others the hours over the years that I've spent. Having a structure at the beginning of your middle school music class that immediately requires students to put their music hats on was a HUGE game changer for me - so if I can help one teacher through the time I put this together, then my cup will overflow.)
More product nuts & bolts as promised:
The bell work questions are flattened into the background design - meaning you can't edit the questions or worry about accidentally moving objects in PowerPoint or Google Slides. The layout also comes with text boxes ready for you to type what rep you're rehearsing for the day, the 100th reminder of the upcoming spring concert, and a place to put a funny meme.
This product is meant to be a quick click and go for busy music teachers who don't have time to make questions for their classes. If you do have time to create your own questions, then dm me on Instagram @cathyschoirclass to brainstorm functional and fun questions that you've used for bell work. :)
This product doesn't come with an answer key for each bell work slide since it will be up to you on how to order them for your classes, just the questions ready-to-use and the blank answer sheet template is included.
