Description

This unit on prepositions will help you teach students about this essential part of speech. Prepositions are relational words that show connection between a noun or pronoun and its object.

This is a quick unit covering the identification and application of prepositions and prepositional phrases.

You get the following:

  • Two lessons--four pages (can be printed and copied to be double-sided), where students learn what a preposition is, how to find it in a sentence, and practice writing prepositional phrases, and there is even a short writing exercise using prepositions.

  • A Bonus Prepositions Challenge worksheet that includes sentences with multiple prepositional phrases

  • A quiz, and answer keys for all!

I've also included 15 different Bingo cards (all different) if you want to do a class Bingo for prizes! Pair up students so everyone can play. I have also included the list of prepositions on a page for you to cut out and use with the bingo game.

The following common prepositions are included:

  • above
  • across
  • after
  • around
  • at
  • before
  • behind
  • below
  • beside
  • between
  • by
  • down
  • during
  • for
  • from
  • in
  • inside
  • into
  • of
  • off
  • on
  • out
  • over
  • through
  • to
  • under
  • up
  • with

These are the most commonly used prepositions, and the list is short enough that it can be memorized.

Thanks,
