What educators are saying

I LOVE this lesson! The Google Slides presentation works great with Google Classroom. I use it every year with my students when we come back to school after the holiday break. Thank you for keeping it updated with each new year.
My students and I enjoyed completing this activity after the new year. I told them it would be something that we look back at in a month or two to see if we are using our 5 steps to make it a great year.

Description

Use this New Year's activity to help celebrate the new year while also supporting social emotional skills such as positive thinking, coping skills, and practicing gratitude. It includes a printable (and digital) poster, as well as a booklet students will make for their 5 mini-activities.

More Positive Thinking

{ Positive Thinking Fortune Teller Craft }

Use this paper fortune teller craft to teach and practice positive thinking skills and positive self-talk. Developing strong positive thinking and self-talk skills can be an effective coping strategy for a number of challenges, including anxiety, anger, depression, and more.

{ Self-Esteem and Positive Thinking Task Cards }

Use these 116 task cards to focus on improving self-esteem, confidence building, and encouraging positive thinking skills. They can be used in small groups, 1:1 for intensive instruction, or even in a whole class to help focus on building a positive community of learners.
