Description

Are you searching for a step-by-step PowerPoint that can be used to introduce nonfiction text features to your students in a way that will grab their attention? You've come to the right place! This 120-slide PowerPoint is designed to introduce your students to 23 common text features found in nonfiction books. Use this PowerPoint to create engaging lessons over the course of multiple days.

This PowerPoint begins with an introduction to text features. Each of the 23 text features is presented individually. The first seven text features presented (title page, table of contents, index, glossary, guide words, heading, and subheading) also include practice exercises where students learn to interact with and answer questions related to the given text structures.

The text features PowerPoint concludes with 24 multiple-choice questions about text features. On these slides, the text feature is described first. Then, an image is presented for students who need additional support. After students have an opportunity to select their answer, the correct answer is circled on the screen.

PowerPoints filled with visuals are ideal for teaching new content to students because PowerPoints tend to be highly engaging and concepts can be easily broken down into understandable chunks of information. But let's face it... they are so time-consuming to create! Fortunately, now you have an option of using one that is already complete, kid-tested, and ready to go for you!
