PHONICS BUNDLE 2 Phonics and Fluency Practice For Older Students

Resource 1: Fast Fluency Practice for Older Students: Phonics Set 2 is perfect for Distance Learning or Classroom work.

With over 100 Final Blend Phonics Fluency Passages and dozens of assessments - this resource is designed to help older students achieve reading fluency through phonics and timed assessments – in as little as 10 minutes a day.

Each passage, each section and the whole resource is in PDF form fillable for printable packets as well uploaded to the Google Drive – with links provided for easy download, copy and assignment to students for distance learning. Students can type directly into the form and send back their results.

This program is designed around the research of Hasbrouck, Glaser, Tindal and Hasbrouck that asserts that students are motived and gain reading fluency by reading and re-reading short passages – paired one-on-one with like-leveled peers.  It also works as a distance learning resource – whereby students read alone, with a family member or via Zoom with a partner

This resource addresses many levels of fluency and is naturally differentiated.

I have also successfully used this program working one-on-one with students as well as sending it home as homework – for students to work with their parents.

Resource 3:

Turn-key phonics practice activities for older students. These are beginning blend words for older students. The activities are designed to be engaging and allow for students to work independently or in pairs. Each blend has two days of activities.

The activities work as stand alone lessons, centers, morning work warm-ups, review, lesson reinforcement, back table work – even early finishers. They are designed for older students to reinforce or learn phonics skills without feeling marginalized by work that looks "babyish."
