Description
My Pop Bottle Biography Projects will truly FOSTER a LOVE of reading and writing informational text among your students while allowing them to be creative thinkers and learners. Your students will LOVE this project because they will have an opportunity to use their imaginations as they learn about an important person in history! This project will also get your students and their families working TOGETHER! How awesome is that?!?
As teachers, we all know how important choice in the classroom truly is! I highly recommend the Who Is/Was Biography series for this book project, but you can use any biography books you want. It is completely up to you.
This project has 3 important parts:
1. Reading the chapter book (at school or at home-teacher choice)
2. Writing the book report (at school or at home-teacher choice)
3. Creating the pop bottle art project (at home, but I have had students complete this part at school with me)
I allow my students about a month to do this project. Students can do the reading and writing parts in class if you choose. The pop bottle project can be done as a family project at home. This encourages families to work together. I always provide any art materials for my students' projects if necessary.
Included in this resource, you will receive the following:
*Student/family information packet to send home with detailed project directions
*Materials needed for the project
*2 pages of sample pictures from past students
*Graphic Organizer for Multiple Paragraph Essay with break-down of information for each paragraph
*Scoring rubrics for all 3 parts (written, oral, pop bottle project) - 40 points total
-Grading rubric for written report (20 points)
-Grading rubric for pop bottle project (10 points)
-Grading rubric for oral presentation (10 points)
