What educators are saying

I love the scenario cards to open up discussion about how to manage emotions during unexpected events. It's important to remember that it doesn't matter if the practitioner thinks the problem is "big" or "small'; that is relative and subjective. The important part is learning how to regulate.
I love using this activity to help my students identify/understand their problems and self advocate and regulate their emotions!

Description

Need help teaching children how to regulate their emotions, build social emotional skills, and be effective problem solvers? This 40-page comprehensive resource includes 100+ problem scenario cards, interactive worksheets, coloring pages, build-your-own toolkits, reflection forms, and more!

Your students will remain engaged as they color, write, cut/paste, and engage in thoughtful discussion. In this resource, emphasis is placed on first using self-regulating strategies to calm their body, then using tools to solve their problem. It is recommended for use with primary-aged children, with support from an adult to help them complete the different activities.

As you work through these activities, the emotions felt by the child in reaction to problems should be validated, whether they are commonly considered “appropriate” in severity or not.
