What educators are saying

I love this resource. For many of my students it was a challenge to get the details in the correct order. What a great way to practice organization of writing.

Description

Use this Paragraph Organization PowerPoint to teach students about organizing paragraphs and paragraph writing. ELA test prep practice helps students recognize parts of a paragraph: topic sentence, supporting details, and conclusion. Students learn how to write a good paragraph. Ten interactive practice questions on topic sentences, extraneous information, and conclusions. Student read and answer questions about a given paragraph and click to check. Writing assignment included. Questions are like ones given on state tests to assess students understanding of how to organize a paragraph. Use this as a whole group mini-lesson and have students answer on white boards to prepare for standardized testing. Fun. No prep and no printing needed. See full preview. Animations do not show in the preview.

You can use PowerPoints like this in video conferencing or Zoom for remote learning. Share with your students in OneDrive and in Microsoft Teams, too. View in Slideshow mode. You can upload to Google Drive and save as Google Slides. It will automatically convert, so you can use it in Google Classroom. It is editable and easy to make adjustments if necessary.

Tip: To print a PowerPoint presentation with room for students to write notes, choose the File tab, select Print, and change the layout to Handouts. You can select 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 slides per page. The 3-slides-per-page format is most commonly used because it presents slides that are large enough to see with a lined space for note-taking. Then select the page range and click Print.
