Description

This low prep resource helps introduce students to nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs, and then allows them to practice and review their understanding of these parts of speech through activities, centers, a cut and paste sort, a scavenger hunt, word lists, and more.

  • 4 pages of activities to introduce and practice nouns
  • 4 pages of activities to introduce and practice adjectives
  • 4 pages of activities to introduce and practice verbs (primarily action verbs)
  • 4 pages of activities to introduce and practice adverbs
  • 4 word lists - 1 each for nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs

This resource uses the following definitions for the different parts of speech:

Nouns: A person, animal, place, or thing

Adjectives: a word that describes a noun

Verbs: Describe action, explain what the noun is doing (Other types of verbs, like linking and action verbs, are not addressed in this resource)

Adverbs: Give more information about the verb, using explaining how, when, or where
