Description

Created for children on the autism spectrum who have a difficult time understanding what the expectations are in the restroom. This social story and simple task analysis system using PECS briefly and explicitly outlines the routines and procedures the child is expected to complete in the restroom in very basic language. While the social story goes through each step the child needs to complete in the restroom, the task analysis chart gives them a concrete visual to manipulate as they physically move the steps from the green "go" side to the red "all done" side. As they read and complete the step-by-step PEC chart they will gain an all too important routine to follow and rely on, and give meaning to a previously unknown room.

Included in this PDF is two visual variations of a Social Story and Task Analysis System (so the student may relate closely with the images!) with instructions for easy assembly using a manila folder and recommended usage.

Tasks Analysis Steps are:
-Pull down pants
-Pull down underwear
-Sit on the potty
-Pull up pants
-Pull up underwear
-Flush toilet
-Wash Hands
-All done
