Description
These are my lesson plans for the entire Sounds Sensible program. It contains plans for all activities in each step of the Teacher’s Guide. The materials are listed for each activity, making it easier to gather everything that’s needed. It is a Word file so it’s fully editable.
The plans address the following sounds: a, b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z.
Due to the format of the program, these lesson plans are written in a unique way. There are 5 components (steps) to each lesson. While all 5 steps are taught during a lesson, students can progress within each step at different rates, so it would be impossible to plan with the traditional format of having all steps for that lesson printed in advance on one page. For example, your students could be working on activity #5 in step 1, but only working on activity #3 in step 2 because it hasn’t been mastered yet. To solve this issue, I printed each step separately, leaving me with 5 packets of lessons (one for each step). Each day, I place one post-it on each packet indicating which activity I will be teaching that day for each of the 5 steps (depending on their progress with the previous activity). See picture #1 for a visual of this.
These are my lesson plans to go with the Sounds Sensible program. You would need to purchase the kit in order to have all the materials for the lessons.
