STAR Early Literacy Test Prep and Math Practice Question Cards MKAS Test Prep

Hi there! I am SO excited to share my favorite resource with you! The STAR MKAS Test Prep task cards!

Why was this resource created?

I created these practice question cards in order to support my English Language Learners. What I found was that my kindergarten students were really struggling with the language of the STAR Early Literacy test questions. Often my students knew the content, but the language of the question was challenging to understand. I designed the cards to be closely similar to the actual test because often students had trouble navigating and knowing what the buttons were.

How can I use this resource?

Everyday, I would display a STAR practice question of the day. Students would use their fingers to show what they believe the answer is. It became a fun game in my classroom that they looked forward to everyday! Additionally, during small group I would end each group with 3-5 question cards to give students more practice with the language of the question. We would discuss key words in the question.

IMPORTANT NOTE: * There is NO AUDIO in this resource. The listening rabbit is simply there to remind students to utilize the listening rabbit on the actual STAR test. When working in small groups, encourage students to “press” the listening rabbit if they need you to repeat the question.
