Description
This bundle includes everything you need to start your year of right in science and get your students involved in the nature of science. The first part focuses on scientific practices including the scientific method, experimental design analyzing data, and writing CER conclusions. The second part focuses on the metric system and metric measurements.
The bundle includes engaging hands on activities to get your students excited about science, guided notes, and practice/review worksheets. A perfect way to start your year!!
Part 1: Scientific Practices - Give your students a solid foundation with these activities to teach about scientific practices. Start with an overview of the scientific method and experimental design including how to write a testable question, different types of variables, and how to identify them. Help them to understand the differences between observations and inferences and how to write CER arguments. The first part finishes up with a week long sequence about data analysis including graphs and using real world data.
Part 2: Metric System - In the second part, the student use tools to accurately measure using the metric system. Includes information about length, volume, and mass and includes metric conversions too! My students often say the gummy bear metric lab is one of their favorite activities they do during the year.
