THE HANDMAID'S TALE UNIT PLAN: COMMON CORE APPROVED

This 84-page unit has expository text and activities meant to elevate classroom discussion. The goal of this unit is to make connections to the present and find ways to relate and engage with this dystopian tale. Students focus on: the social commentary about gender roles, feminism, and real-world examples. With the current political climate of the world, this is a great unit to use as a catalyst to discuss current events.

The unit includes my personal reading schedule and common core/anti-bias strands.

I have also included my PERSONAL pacing guide as an EXAMPLE. I have 100 minute classes and provide my outline as an additional guide to teaching the unit.
