Description
Are you searching for a fun reading activity to do during the week of Thanksgiving? This set of THREE Readers' Theaters scripts will certainly spice things up! You will receive three engaging scripts that have enough parts for 26 readers. A bonus page for teachers includes a page that lists the number of lines by characters and an explanation about how I schedule this to be a weeklong Readers' Theater activity.
This BUNDLE contains three separate Readers' Theater scripts:
1. A Wishbone that Works- Becky’s family is getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. Becky and her older brother, Garrett, are dreading the arrival of their 4-year-old cousin, Parker. As usual, Parker is difficult to deal with and usually gets what she wants. Things abruptly change, though, when it’s time to break the wishbone.
2. Dalton’s Never-Ending Thanksgiving Feast- Dalton’s family has to attend three Thanksgiving dinners because they have three sets of grandparents. Dalton’s parents and sister warn him not to eat too much at the first visit, but Dalton doesn’t heed their advice. By the end of Thanksgiving evening, Dalton is feeling miserable because he ate too much.
3. Peppy’s Adventure- In this fantasy script, Peppy is a turkey who has decided to leave the woods and see the world. His mother, sister, and friends try to convince him to stay, but Peppy has made up his mind. Some of his assumptions about the world may be incorrect, but he’s ready to explore!
********This resource is available in THREE FORMATS:
- TRADITIONAL PRINTABLES- Print each PDF and make paper copies. Distribute the scripts and your students will read from these paper copies.
- GOOGLE SLIDES ACTIVITY- With this format, students can read their script from a device.
- EASEL ACTIVITY- Students can read their script from a device with this option, as well. One added bonus to this version is that students can use the highlighting tool to highlight their lines.
This bundle also contains several "extras"!
- A Monday through Wednesday SYNOPSIS of the LESSON PLANS I write as my class prepares to perform these Readers' Theater scripts.
- A SUMMARY of each script
- TWO PAGES about PARTS (how many parts each character has, and how I would divide the parts if I needed more than 25 parts)

Here's what teachers like you had to say about using these scripts in their classroom:
⭐️ Jessica L. said, "I was not expecting my kiddos to love this as much as they did! They went all in; learning lines, making costumes, creating sets, etc. They asked me to do a readers' theater like this one for MONTHS after!"
⭐️ Meagan O. said, "My fifth graders were dying of laughter reading through these scripts and SO eager to act them out!"
⭐️ Natalie M. said, "What a great resource for drama! The Thanksgiving theme was perfect for the timing of our drama unit, and the kiddos had the best time learning and performing these plays!"
⭐️ Stephanie W. said, "We used this as a fun activity before Thanksgiving and my students LOVED it! They were so into the roles they played and we had a blast!"
⭐️ Julia W. said, "My students LOVE your readers' theater scripts! They found this set especially funny and engaging. I love that there are enough parts between all the scripts that all my students can participate."
