What educators are saying

I had my students write a simple "I am" poem at the beginning of the year and they just finished this for their end of the year reflection. It was great for them to see how much they have changed in just one school year and the parents love reading them!
We LOVE doing this each year during our poetry unit! I am always amazed at what the kiddos put together!

Description

I created this writing project as a way to address the changes that come with wearing masks at school all day. Even though we can only see each other’s eyes, we can recognize that even just our eyes say so much. This poem encourages students to explore the story behind their eyes. This pack includes:

  • teacher guide
  • example poem
  • student brainstorming page
  • student poem fill-in template
  • 3 different final draft options
  • a DIGITAL option to complete with students virtually

The digital option is a Google Slides document with text boxes for student typing. Visit the highlight on my Instagram @teachingontables to learn more about this product!
