    Description

Get a complete Transformations Unit including lessons on translations, reflections, rotations, dilations, and more!  These ready-to-use resources include everything you need to teach about transformations to your on-level or lower-level/special education high school class. Supplements would be needed for an honors class.

This is the 2nd unit that's included in my Geometry Curriculum.

This unit contains guided notes, practice worksheets for the classroom and/or homework, activities like task cards, posters, editable quizzes, graphic organizers, editable study guides, and editable tests. This unit also contains all answer keys, a unit study guide, and a unit exam. This unit is print-and-go to make your life easier. Plus, students will love the organization of the guided notes and the engaging activities!

*Update: This unit now contains video lessons for every set of notes!*

    Topics Covered:

    • Translations
    • Reflections (x-axis, y-axis, y=x, y=-x, horizontal and vertical lines)
    • Rotations (90, 180, 270 about the origin)
    • Dilations (centered at origin, not centered at origin, line dilation)
    • Carrying a figure to another figure (using a combination of transformations)
    • Mapping a figure to itself

    This Bundle Includes:

⭐️ Translations, Reflections, Rotations Task Cards

    ⭐️ Transformation Rules Graphic Organizer

⭐️ Transformations Test with Study Guide

    ⭐️ Dilations Task Cards

⭐️ Carry a Shape to Itself Activity

⭐️ Transformations Guided Notes and Worksheets

⭐️ Transformations Posters (Geometry Word Wall)

    ⭐️ Translations, Reflections, Rotations Quiz

⭐️ Pacing Guide and Teacher Tips

The video lessons cover each set of notes and can be used for flipped classroom, absent students, or when you have a sub.

    TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Katie R. says, "These notes are very well organized! My students loved the guided notes and the graphic organizer was a great study tool for them!!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kate S. says, "My students found this resource clear and informative. Posters served as helpful reference, guided notes provided structure, and the task cards were great practice before the quiz."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Robert C. says, "Not only are all of her products well organized, simple, and clear for students to understand but made it possible for me to learn it too, lol. The kiddos love the cloze notes. I find it saves time on note taking and we can spend more time focusing on the concept being taught. It's awesome that answer keys are included for everything and a curriculum map is included :). "

    Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Represent transformations in the plane using, e.g., transparencies and geometry software; describe transformations as functions that take points in the plane as inputs and give other points as outputs. Compare transformations that preserve distance and angle to those that do not (e.g., translation versus horizontal stretch).
Given a rectangle, parallelogram, trapezoid, or regular polygon, describe the rotations and reflections that carry it onto itself.
Develop definitions of rotations, reflections, and translations in terms of angles, circles, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, and line segments.
Given a geometric figure and a rotation, reflection, or translation, draw the transformed figure using, e.g., graph paper, tracing paper, or geometry software. Specify a sequence of transformations that will carry a given figure onto another.
Use geometric descriptions of rigid motions to transform figures and to predict the effect of a given rigid motion on a given figure; given two figures, use the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions to decide if they are congruent.
