What's Next? - Life After High School Bundle - College Research & Goal Setting

This bundle is a perfect unit for getting students to think about their lives after high school and to research what options are available to them. Students will learn all about college, research a degree program, and make a five year plan for after graduation. This is a great introduction and a fun way to get students looking forward. WHAT’S INCLUDED?

COLLEGE 101 PRINT ACTIVITY includes a presentation and student notes sheet that teaches students about their options after high school and how to prepare for post-secondary education. This is a low/no-prep product. Teachers can customize slides for their local education options, or delete them and go. The presentation is tied to a notes sheet that students can fill in as they go. This can be done in class, presentation style, or can be assigned to students to go through independently.

The DEGREE RESEARCH PROJECT has students research a local degree or certification program and create a visually appealing flyer to summarize the important information. Once the class is finished researching the various options available after high school, they will complete a gallery walk to view each others’ posters and find out about all of the exciting opportunities! This would be perfect for independent research, distance learning, or sub plans. This also makes a great bulletin board once all students are finished. Just print, mount on construction paper, and post for a nice looking, informative, student created visual.

The FIVE YEAR PLAN asks students to visualize their first five years after high school and answer things about how they want their lives to look. They will also write a SMART goal for each year to help them make a plan for attaining the things they want. This works for all students, regardless of whether they are college bound or going straight to the workforce. I also love how much I get to know about my students through this activity!

• Print and use on paper in the classroom 
• Leave the link or copies with students when you have a sub
• Assign these to students when they miss class as makeup work
