Writing Workshop Escape Room

The purpose of this Writing Workshop is to engage your students in an Escape Room activity to learn more about the important components for being an effective writer. Watch your students get excited as they try to get accepted into The School of Writing Wizardry. Grammar Detectives

These activities are intended to provide your students with an understanding of some of the most basic grammar. The worksheets provided will help your students understand topics such as subject, verb (predicate), punctuation, sentence fragments, nouns, pronouns, prepositions, adverbs, adjectives, and combining sentences. Noun, Adjective, Action Verb Flip Cards

The purpose of this activity is to engage your students as they review parts of speech, specifically nouns, adjectives, and action verbs. Students will use their flip cards and then record their answers to determine what kind of “Detective” they are. Note: The answer key provided is accurate to the best of our understanding. There may be a few tricky answers to a couple of the sentences. Included with this resource is an editable answer key.

They are called “Flip Cards” because they are meant to be bound together with a metal ring and “flipped” through.
