TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 12 years of teaching experience so far and have taught students in all grades PK-8 in some capacity. My best years teaching were spent teaching middle school reading and ELA to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, as well as reading, ELA, and social studies in 4th grade. My absolute favorite grade to teach is 6th grade. I have also worked as a technology director as well as mentored and delivered professional development to teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that active learning is the key to happy, motivated, and challenged students. I use a lot of technology in my classroom because it engages my students and helps me run my classroom efficiently, but I believe there is a time and a place for technology and more is not always better. I also use interactive notebooks and provide professional development to teachers looking to provide more interactivity in their lessons in order to reach all learners. I specialize in creating lessons and activities that reach a wide variety of learning styles as well as provide numerous accommodations and modifications for students who require them.
