TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Eleven years of teaching at the elementary level, including 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Five years serving as a Lead Teacher for my school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in helping students become bolder, deeper, better thinkers. I believe authentic, meaningful learning impacts children. I believe in risk-taking, and showing students that making mistakes can help you grow. I believe in expecting a lot from a child, but to guide them in reaching those expectations. I believe that the best way for children to become better readers is to READ, a lot, and usually with good-fit books.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have the honor of being a teacher and a dad and a husband... does that count?

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. in Early Childhood Education, Miami University Reading Endorsment
